I recently purchased two newel posts from American Porch, and I am beyond impressed. The customer service was truly phenomenal—like nothing I’ve experienced in years. The staff were incredibly responsive, sympathetic to my project needs, and accommodating throughout the entire process. There were some shipping issues, no fault of American Porch, and they worked closely with me to resolve them. As for the posts themselves, the quality is excellent. They arrived exactly as advertised and look gorgeous now that they’re installed. If you’re looking for craftsmanship backed by a team that actually cares, look no further. I would not hesitate to recommend American Porch!

I have been super impressed with American Porch! When we bought our vintage 1895 home years ago we added a wrap-around porch. Over time we found that the wooden posts that were there were rotting from the inside and made the decision to replace all 17 of them. It was a big job. The team did a great job putting together a quote that included all of the trim and other pieces I needed to make this come together. During installation we found that a couple of trim collars had been damaged in shipping. American Porch took great care of me working to find and expedite replacements. First of all the finished product looks so much better than the original posts. They are are much sturdier and will never rot. I love everything about them.

Our project involved an almost complete gut renovation of our home’s 1905 front porch. Staying true to the original architectural style was extremely important to us, so we were determined to find materials that accurately replicated what was originally there—turned porch columns, turned cedar spindles, and a proper newel post and cap.

After extensive research, we needed a manufacturer that not only offered everything we were looking for, but could also ship it safely. Enter American Porch. The first thing that impressed me was their website—easy to navigate, well organized, and filled with accurate, detailed product information. The quality of the products themselves was outstanding, and the ordering process was seamless—on par with ordering from much larger e-commerce retailers.

I was admittedly nervous about shipping, but those concerns disappeared immediately. The porch columns, newel posts, and all associated hardware and accessories were shipped via freight and arrived absolutely flawless. The spindles were packed tightly in a reinforced rectangular box with both interior and exterior protection. I honestly worried it wouldn’t be enough—but to my surprise, they arrived in perfect condition as well.

This company was a pleasure to work with from start to finish, and the results truly speak for themselves. If I ever take on another project requiring architecturally accurate porch components, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. The custom PVC panels I ordered from American Porch made our beach house the envy of the neighborhood. They are easy to install, durable and maintenance free. I’ve been wanting to cover the original foundation piers for years, but didn’t want to break the bank and hire a contractor. Turns out I didn’t have to. This project took me a few days and it looks great.

We did receive the materials, all of which were in good shape.  We decided to keep the one newel post we had been given permission to return.  Everything went together well other than a few modifications and having to figure out how to make some joint connections work.
