Also called Polyurethane Balusters. Actual Width: 4 1/2″. Specify length/design. Recommended On Center spacing is 6 1/2″. Use with 7″ Polyurethane Rail System.
Polyurethane balusters are reinforced with an internal PVC pipe, which extends 1″ from each end.
What height of baluster do I need?
Using our 7″ Top and Bottom Rails with a 2-4″ toe space, the following rail heights will result:
16″ Baluster (12″ turned portion): 29″ – 31″ (commonly used for decorative rail or historically grandfathered rails where modern building codes don’t apply)
22″ Baluster (17″ turned portion): 35″ – 37″ (commonly used to meet residential codes)
22 Extended to 30″ Baluster (17″ turned portion): 43″ – 45″ (commonly used for residential stair rails)
30″ Baluster (23″ turned portion): 43″ – 45″ (commonly used to meet commercial codes)
36″ Baluster (23″ turned portion): 49″ – 51″ (commonly used on commercial stair rails)
How many balusters do I need?
Take the length of your rail (in inches) and divide by 6 1/2″ and round down. Example: 8′ of rail, which is 96″. Take 96 divided by 6.5 = 14 needed.
