Adam, the project manager, was wonderful to work with. We had a custom project and he was able to answer my numerous questions and handle the changes and adjustments to the design with wonderful professionalism. Our porch balustrade was received undamaged. Shipped from MT to VA! I highly recommend paying extra for the oil based primer. The product was ready for two finish coats with just a light sanding in between of a high quality exterior latex paint. Gorgeous!

Western Spindle was very helpful with my order. I replaced a Tuscan column base when my lawn service damaged the original piece. I needed a very specific size and could not find it anywhere. I contacted Adam who promptly e-mailed me schematics with the full set of dimensions for two column base options. From that, I was able to select the most appropriate size. Because the column was glued to the concrete patio with construction adhesive, Adam recommended the base be split before shipment and guided me through the installation.

The base arrived promptly at my home in perfect condition. It was packed so well and carefully, the delivery driver probably could’ve thrown it from his speeding truck to my front door (of course he did not) without damaging the contents. The base is a quality piece made from super lightweight, strong foam. Installation was simple and the repair to my home is perfect.

Miami University of Ohio commissioned our firm to assist with the historical renovation of a highly visible and important residence on campus. The renovation time period was limited to a very short summer window so timing and accuracy were required to achieve success. It was evident that attention to exact replication of existing spindles was necessary. After a rigorous search of qualified companies throughout the United States we recommended the University contract with Western Spindle for the effort. Western Spindle developed the spindles to the exact required specifications and delivered them on time and on budget.

I can’t begin to describe the railings that I received from Western Spindle. The word “gorgeous” is just not enough! We put the railings on our outside porch and we have received so many compliments. After looking all over for wooden spindles to replace some that had rotted out on our front porch, I was about to give up – woodworking shops could not replicate the spindles I had, and the original manufacturer was no longer in business. Western Spindle was able to replicate my spindles exactly through a “casting” process using polyurethane (I think). In any event, the new spindles are installed and look great, and will no doubt outlive the existing wooden spindles. Great job and easy to work with. Reasonably priced as well for this type of time-intensive custom work.
