6″ 3 Piece Rail, 2 1/2″ Square Porch Balusters, and 8″ Newel Posts for O.F.
Thanks for following up. The balustrade we ordered from you was great! It saved us time and money without compromising quality. We were delayed from some rains but the balustrade installed in 2 1/2 days. Milling onsite would have been more like 4 days costing more in materials and skilled labor.
Architecturally, the dimensions worked nicely with the house/space. Glad we went with the larger dimensions. Once painted, it all came together so nicely. We’re really happy with it!
The Newell post system was fantastic. Only critique is that you should: (1) provide a template so anchors can be set in wet concrete not drilled and screwed in and (2) either making the bottom plate so that it would accept 1/4” anchors or proving #10 anchors that fit the holes. Maybe overkill but concrete screws seem like a weak point in an otherwise great system.
FYI, since you are woodworkers, the stairs are VG Doug fir with two epoxy systems: Smiths for water proofing and rot resistance; Epifanes two-part polyurethane top coat for UV and wear resistance.
We would be fine with you posting the photos on your website if you want. But please don’t name any personal info or address.
