These outdoor lamp posts are made with a 3″ aluminum pipe encased in our high density polyurethane foam. This material has a similar density to a softwood such as cedar, which gives the lamp post their warm wood-like feel. However, our Poly material will never rot, and of course the internal aluminum pipe is nearly impervious to the weather.
Outdoor lamp posts come primed in flat white and ready to accept paint. They will need to be painted with a water-based paint after installation to a color of your choice. Exterior paint lasts a very long time on our Poly material because it doesn’t warp, crack, shift, or otherwise react to changes in weather.

Colonial Lamp Post, 4 5/8″ Wide x 96″ High
Victorian Porch Post, 5 1/2″ Wide x 85″ High
The tapered lamp posts have chamfered corners that achieve a more modern exterior light post look. The Colonial and Victorian offer a more vintage street lamp post look.
How To Install/Mount A Lamp Post
Lamp posts are typically set in a 2′ deep hole which is filled with concrete, and that process works well. Many will use a sonotube (round hard cardboard) for a nicer round finished look. If you want to use the full height of the post, you could always mount it on a pipe that you have mounted to the ground. The I.D. of our internal aluminum pipe is 2.750″, so plan your stub accordingly.
How To Attach A Light Fixture To An Outdoor Lamp Post
Refer to the manufacturer of the light fixture for instructions on installing their product. Our lamp post has a 3″ O.D. pipe that extends from the top of the post on which to mount the fixture. It usually consists of sliding the lamp onto the pipe, attaching with self-tapping screws, and covering with the collar.
Christmas Decor Lamp Posts
These lamp posts are very often used outside for Christmas decorations. Of course we think you should leave them up all year! (unlike the Christmas lights, right?)
