Madison, IN Historic Porch Restoration

This historic porch in Madison, Indiana once belonged to Jesse Bright, a prominent politician prior to the Civil War (1861-1865). He served as Lt. Governor, 3 terms as US Senator for Indiana, and other prominent positions during that time.

The current owner writes: “At some point in the 1950s to 1970s the original side porch was enclosed. And when I purchased the house in 2004, it was in a state of collapse. In 2010 I restored the porch, using your all’s spindles because, as a professional historic preservation specialist, I knew them to be authentic. You can see the results. Thank you all so much for making such fine products available.” 5/16/12

This homeowner selected our solid wood 3 1/2 x 26″ Revival Porch Spindles and 6″ Porch Rail System based on the authenticity of these products. The owner of Western Spindle says this balustrade together with the classic large square columns is his favorite setup.
