4 1/2" Poly Balustrade

4 1/2″ Porch Railing Systems are a mid-sized composite porch balustrade. It’s much more substantial than what’s found in the big box stores, but not so large that it overpowers a mid-sized home’s architecture. This porch railing system is commonly used with 2 1/2″ and 3″ spindles and balusters.  This rail size can also be ordered with goosenecks for extra detail. A gooseneck is a rail end that “swoops up” before terminating into the post. For quick planning, expect around $140 per linear foot for top & bottom rail and 2 1/2″ spindles, plus any newel posts needed.

As with all our Polyurethane railing systems, the 4 1/2″ porch railing system is available in 8, 10, and 12′ lengths.  The 3″ turned urethane spindle is the centerpiece of this balustrade.  This is the size to use on small to mid-size porches, porticoes and balconies.  It has a fancy, yet modest look that will not over power the exterior of a home or porch.

Our porch railing systems are designed to be easy to install, which appeals to many builders and installers.  Polyurethane railing cuts much like wood, and the same tools will work.  See our Installation Instructions for specifics on your railing installation.

This railing system is made of High Density Polyurethane, which is a foam product with a density similar to that of a softwood such as cedar or pine.  This is what gives our synthetic balustrade the natural look and and warm feel that homeowners want.  And installers will love the ease of installation.

You’ll sometimes hear poly porch railings systems referred to as Fypon porch balustrade.  Fypon is a brand name of polyurethane.  They are probably the largest brand, but have been bought and sold by big corporations and have outsourced production to China.  We make all our polyurethane products in the USA, which gives us better quality control and more consistent lead times.
