Introducing the New “Rampart” Porch Spindle Design

We are excited to announce the addition of a new standard spindle design – the Rampart!

This design was developed by our professional architectural design specialists because of the large demand we’ve seen for custom spindles of similar design.  This symmetrical turned baluster design is common all over the country.  The name Rampart was inspired by the fact that we’ve done many custom spindle projects on Rampart Street in New Orleans, many of which feature a French Colonial house style of architecture.  This symmetrical design compliments the French Colonial style house perfectly.

As with all our other standard designs, care was taken to make this beautiful turned baluster correct to the architectural style and historically accurate, while also meeting building code guardrail strength and height requirements.  Standard spindle lengths are 20″, 26″, and 32″.  Of course they can be modified to meet any length your project might require.

The new Rampart porch spindle design will be available in three standard widths – 3 1/2″, 2 1/2″, and 1 5/8″.  They will be added to the regular lineup of standard spindle designs already offered.  For easy inclusion in architectural drawings, CAD and PDF drawings are available on the the product listings along with the rest of the standard designs.

Of course you’ll still be able to order any custom design you

need.  Custom porch spindle designs are often made from originals that came off the old porch railing.  If need be, we can even reproduce porch spindles from a drawing or old picture.
